I remember playing a game when I was a kid where you had a boomerang that could be upgraded. And I think the main character was a Gov. Schwarzenegger ripoff. I'm trying to find the ROM, but I can't think of the title.

I think it was called Powerblade. There was a sequel too, I think.
I'm looking for a couple of games myself. In the first, you're a snowman or something and you have to push blocks around to kill enemies and get ice cream. It's a bit like Lolo. My cousin bought a copy in Germany so maybe it isnt available everywhere. Also I'm looking for a game where you were hiding behind a wall and had to turn around to shoot people down an alley.
What's the policy on ROMs on this baord anyway?

Yes! That's the one!
I dont know about yours, though. All I can think of when I read the second descripton is some shitty CD-i Star Wars game. You're thinking about NES games, right?

yeah, they were both for the NES. Maybe someone else knows, I've asked at some otehr forums too. I actually played that Star Wars game, though Thought I was the only one that had ever played it. Think it was called Rebel Force or something.

What's the policy on ROMs on this baord anyway? Actually, I haven't gotten to that. As you may have noticed, this board hasn't clocked a lot of field time yet. For now, let's just say that NES, SNES and games of the same era are cool. Few companies care about ROMs that old today. Better stay away from GBA ROMs and other recent platforms, though. The first game you mentioned is called Kickle Cubicle. It may have some sort of cute spelling going on, so try different terms if you don't find it. The other one I don't know. I actually had one of those Philips CD-i consoles. Never had a chance, really. I think you could mod it to play movies and stuff, I found an old Star Trek IV disc the other day when I was moving some boxes. I'm going to sticky this and make it the official game identification thread.

Oh, don't worry, I just changed the title so the thread has a more generic 'stickied what game is this thread' name. So everyone will know that's the thread to post in when they need to find the name of a game. You know, for when the forum explodes with members posting like crazy. Like, towmorrow.

::EXPLODES INTO ACTION::
I've been asking around, trying to find a ROM of Japanese Monster Party - various wankers assure me it doesn't exist, but I'm SHOOTING FOR THAT HOLY GRAIL, and when I find it, I will entomb it here in the E-O, for all to seek.

Good luck. I'm sure there's a prototype somewhere.

Must be, but it'll be damned hard to find. What with a blurry picture from a television being the best picture at the moment.

You know you'll get the first copy of the ROM, sweetcakes.

I just played through Monster Party in its entirety the other day -- and after doing so, I'm probably going to give it a review myself; 100 people could review it and not exhaust all of the crazy crap that happens in it -- and I've gotta say WHO NEEDS THE JAPANESE ROM? The game is wacky enough even without Hell in the background -- one of the bosses is tempura fried onion ring for cryin' out loud. Must...review. ;D
