www.encyclopedia-obscura.com/moviesargo.htmlA friend of mine found this movie in Italy. The piece is not up right now, as I can't upload it from the computer at work, and when I'm at school to upload it there, I can't access this board, so I have to post this thread at work. God, I hate the Internet.

So that's why I'm sent to your last wartoons piece instead to the Italian movie one? I thought the link was screwed.
On a separate note, does anybody get the "Too many conections" message often when you try to acces these boards? It bugs me a lot.

Nope, Juan, I've never gotten that. Therefore I cannot relate.
Aaand Per, great article! I've gotta learn the art of concise summarizing that you consistently demonstrate in these movie reviews (well, except for Manos... ). Was it a really short movie, did you leave lots out, or did it just flow like that for you? Nice work. And I saw the link -- thanks for that! A handful of referrals came over today, too. Always glad to have more traffic! ;D

read it, loved it, want to see it.
Although the movie in itself seems a little boring.

I wouldn't say it's boring, but it's not a very good film either, and it's not so bad that it turns in on itself either. It was pretty fun.
Juan: Yeah, that's a problem with this server, there's just too many boards on it. The Proboards people are looking into it.
Wes: Superargo wasn't very short, but everything that was lampoonable about it was right on the surface and easily illustrated with a couple of pictures and a short description. Manos, on the other hand, is so alien in form that you have to establish just how weird it is before you can get into the story. And I should have known it was a bad idea to pick a movie where half the humor is in the editing. Because, you know, that translates easily to the page. I guess Superargo just was an easier write.
I did some reading on your site the other day, by the way. I don't know what it was about it, but that poop candy piece made me laugh really hard. I guess I'm not above that phase just yet.
EDIT: No prob about the link, could you tell me how many hits you got? I'm kinda curious.

Per: I think on that day we got somewhere around seven hits from it. Yesterday (6/20), we got four -- three from the menu page and one from the affiliates section. Stuff's been kinda crazy on SC the last few days -- on Friday the Stupid Internet Ads piece got linked on metafilter -- though it's starting to die down a bit now. Seems like most of the folks who came only stuck around for that one article, but hopefully we'll get a handful of loyal readers out of the mix. And maybe some donations...

Man I love those movies! Kinda reminds me of old «Fantômas» movies with Jean Marais and Louis de Funès, also made in the sixties.
That kind of silly, almost-serious, unbridled super-hero craziness is rare these days. It's all so serious and, when they try to do parody, it just seems too overdone.

Yeah, I have yet to see a super-hero parody movie I've actually liked. Mystery Men was promising, but wasn't executed too well, I think. Nothing beats the real thing. Per: I think on that day we got somewhere around seven hits from it. Yesterday (6/20), we got four -- three from the menu page and one from the affiliates section. Haha, I guess a trickle is better than nothing. Looks like we're still in the little leagues.

Haha, I guess a trickle is better than nothing. Looks like we're still in the little leagues. Yeah, when I wrote that that was actually a pretty high number as far as referrals go -- I'd generally get 6-10 a day from ninjaturtlesnetwork.com linking the first TMNT anime piece, and maybe 10-20 from google searches, but other than that the referrals were in the range of 1-2 hits. Until the recent craziness, that is (yesterday SC got linked on CollegeHumor.com). Bandwidth limit exceeded, now paying paying paying. So if you don't mind my asking, how many referrals came through from SC yesterday? Just wondering... Numbers tell that most of the folks are only coming for the ads piece, but the main page still got 369 views... so I'm curious to know how many of them scrolled down to the links and started clicking.

I don't know about yesterday, but between the first and 23rd of June I've gotten 35 hits from your front page altogether.

Well. Unless they all came in on one day in the past week, that's pretty weak. I wish more of my visitors would stop by the bloodly links.

The link in the obscuragram list is wrong, it opens the War movies article.
