Well anyway. I don't know how our television differs from the rest of the world, but we recently got our Sky service back and I saw an advert for 'Toonami', the action 'toons offshoot of Cartoon Network (And incidentally, if any of you get the British broadcasting for it, there was a trailer for it with a awesome tune over it which I've heard elsewhere but don't know what it is, so if you know, please tell). Anyhow, they were advertising 'Hero Week' for half term and you had the usual dreg: 'Justice League', 'Dragonball Z' and- what was this? Muscular man wearing blue vest, red cape and condom on head? You guessed it: Dirty Challenger Well, I've yet to catch it, but rest assured once I do, it'll be the last time.

I too noticed the muscular man's hit on TV, but in the Fox Kids signal (and I'll be damned if I sit to watch the show, because everything Fox Kids airs is mediocre -- call me Prejudiced if you want). Since the show is aired at afternon I s'ppose the sexual innuendos are skipped... or are they?
By the way, where do you live? I want to know in which countries The Knights of the Zodiac is aired (I had information about it on another thread), now you mention Toonami. In Argentina we also have that block, it includes Knights OT Zodiac.

Yeah, you're talking about Ultimate M.U.S.C.L.E.! Remember those small pink figures that were all the rage back in the mid-to-late 80s? This is their revival. The Cheeks dude is great -- he's got a butt for a head.

I'm in England, but I don't watch it really, so I can't say if it's shown or not. I'll have to have a look.

Ultimate MUSCLE is to be classified in the "Crap I can't believe is popular" file. This was a poor toy in the 80s and it makes for one grotesque cartoon. Geez, one of the fighters has a giant toilet for a body! Another one turns into a running shoe! It could be funny, but is so testosterone-infused that it's not. Maybe I'm missing something. Plus it has poor animation, even for a japanese tv production.
And you're right, FOX kids show are usually poor. Although I like the new Ninja Turtles cartoon.

You can still catch me watching cartoons in the morning, and I usually don't bother checking what airs on Fox Kids at all. Cartoon Network has just about every non-adult animated show I'm interested in watching.
Good to see you got here alright, Simon. Liked your sites. You use Illustrator?
EDIT: I just found out that Samurai Jack is coming on DVD, for those interested.

I'm glad to be here! Thanks for viewing my sites. I use Illustrator mostly for logos, but I usually work in Photoshop with a Wacom tablet.
And I would LOVE to get the Samurai Jack DVDs, but you know what they say, «no money, no DVD».

Well, Kiddlywinks, I happened to catch ULTIMATE MUSCLE on the box the other day. I'm not lying when I say I COULD NOT watch more than two minutes of it for fear of it boring directly into my brain. Mr. CondomHead and some Ergonomic Android Man were fighting in the ring. There was a nine foot tall metal X shape standing in the middle of the ring. From what I could fathom, a huge surge of electricity was passing through the X, so it's lights out for whoever graces it with their presence first. Okay, it makes some sort of sense.
What really got me was one of the two commentators. Now, it's being dubbed from what I assume is Japanese anyway, so the voice actors need to cram in a lot more nonsense to fill out the lip synch but there was no need, no need at all for him to scream, constantly, at the top of his voice:
"OH THIS IS X-CITING, X-CELLENT, X-SASPERATING, X-AGONAL, X-ADOFRIPOPPELSCHMIDT"
I had no idea there were so many word that began with the 'Ex' prefix and now that I do, I never want to hear them again. At every opportunity, he'd reel off a good five or six words, even if the camera wasn't on him!" It was turned off most hastily.

Hmm, I thought Ultimate Muscle was hilarious when I saw it, but I never remember to watch it anymore. The new TMNT show is on Fox Box, too. I like that, but I'm sure that many hardcore TMNT fans on this site think that the new TMNT is sacreligious to the old series. Well, maybe not.
